DESCRIPTION:Let’s have some fun\, improve our sparring skills and raise funds for a very important cause. \nTwo separate car accidents recently left black belts Laura Brooks and Kira Stone facing major surgeries and long-term recovery from their injuries. Both Laura and Kira are connected to Sensei Tom Arcuri’s dojo in Herkimer\, NY. Sensei Tom is a long-time friend and martial arts associate of Sensei Matt Dorsey – Sensei Tom runs the Super Summer Seminar martial arts camp in Herkimer and he was a partner in presenting the World Kobudo Federation International Convention here in Rochester last May. \nOur Spar-a-thon will consist of 60 minutes of sparring skills\, partner practice and sparring sessions with your fellow students and your black belt instructors. You’ll learn a lot\, get a great workout and have a blast. \nThis will be held at our Brighton Branch – 3450 Winton Place\, Rochester from 6 – 7 pm on Friday February 10th. \nAll ages – kids\, teens and adults. Yellow belts and higher. Bring your sparring gear (of course!) and your energy. And a donation ($20 minimum) to help our fellow martial artists in need. Thanks in advance.

SUMMARY:Mastering the Middle Ground 6 Week Seminar with Sifu Mark Cardona
DESCRIPTION:When engaging an attacker\, there’s a space between striking and grappling. This is the “middle ground”\, the space where both your defensive and offensive actions must be adjusted for fluid and effective results.  It’s also the area where many martial artists don’t know exactly what to do. This 6 week seminar will help with that.  \nBy exploring this “no man’s land” of self defense\, you’ll discover the moves\, skills\, positions and energies that will help you become more confident and more competent.  Sifu Mark Cardona will lead you on your journey with drills and exercises drawn from his more than 30 years of martial arts training. \nAll martial arts students\, regardless of rank or style\, will be benefit from this course.  Even experienced black belts will gain insight and skill in dealing with this specific area of self defense.  \nCome and join us for a 6 week program of discovery\, practice and challenge.  Ages 12 and up.
